Riftbound Radiance: the cards, the chase and how to buy it at the box price

Riftbound's fifth set is out October 23, with Pre-Rift events from October 16. It's a music set, with K/DA and Heartsteel, and it has the rarest card Riot has printed so far. Here's what's in a pack, what collectors chase, how earlier sets have held up, how Riot's drawing works, and how to get a display at $119.99.

In short

  • Every pack has one slot that can hold a chase card: an Alt Art, a K/DA Special, a Legend Overnumber (sometimes signed) or the Ultimate Rare.
  • The Ultimate Rare is a battlefield, Packed Amphitheater. Riot puts it in about 0.025% of packs (Riot's average, not a guarantee), "significantly harder to find than the Baron" from Unleashed.
  • Earlier displays still sell above $119.99: about 1.1 to 1.9 times on October 21. Radiance pre-orders were trading at about $147.
  • Riot sold its own displays by drawing, and picks went out from October 5. For everyone else, your local game store and Pre-Rift week are the way in.

Pack breakdown in Riot's words, plus an informational insert (Radiance Overview).

The set adds three new keywords: Deploy (gear that helps you while you hold a battlefield), Show Off (reveal a card to unlock an extra effect) and Disarm (cut an enemy's Might as you attack). It also adds Equipment Units through Orianna's Legend, and a Bomb token. Nine new Legends include Ekko, Seraphine, Evelynn, Ziggs, Jarvan IV, Orianna, Mordekaiser and K'Sante.

Images and quotes: Riot Games (Radiance Overview; card gallery). Riot says its rates "reflect averages across the print run and are not guarantees".

Each of the nine new Legends also has an Overnumber, "which can be found with an artist's signature as well". In the last set, signed cards were the most expensive: Vendetta's signed Akali sold for about $3,230 ungraded, and four more signed cards for $1,100 to $1,350 (TCGplayer, October 6, 2026). Those are Vendetta prices, not a forecast for Radiance. Riot hasn't published a signature rate for this set (checked October 21).

Market prices from TCGplayer. Riot's store lists $119.99 for Origins and Spiritforged (Riot Merch Store), and Riot's drawing FAQ gave $119.99 for Radiance when we read it on October 17, and Riot has since reused that page for another drawing. PHD Games lists the display at $120 for 24 packs (PHD Games, read October 22, 2026). Riot's Unleashed, Vendetta and Radiance store pages show no price (checked October 21).

The pattern so far: every display still sells above Riot's price. Newer sets have tended to sit closer to $119.99. Radiance pre-orders traded at about 1.2 times before release. Prices are snapshots, not forecasts.

How Riot sells it

"We missed the mark on demand."

Riot Games, after Origins (November 10, 2025)

Riot's own store first sold first-come-first-served. After Spiritforged pre-orders in January 2026, Riot said the sale "was not acceptable", even with "around fifty percent more product than Origins", and moved to random drawings (Riot Games).

  1. Sign up: September 25 to 30, for one Radiance display per Riot ID.
  2. Picks: from October 5. Winners get an email with a link that works for 24 hours.
  3. Redraws: unpurchased displays go back and someone new is drawn.
  4. Ships: from October 23.

Riot Games (Radiance Merch Store Update, Drawing FAQ).

How it went, so far: selection emails started going out on October 5 (Riftwatch, October 6, citing Riot). As of October 21, Riot hadn't said how many players were picked, and we found no reports of problems. We'll add the outcome here when Riot posts it.

05

Buying Radiance at the box price

  • Pre-Rift week, Oct 16–22

Early play at participating game stores. Kits hold five Radiance boosters plus a Pre-Rift pack seeded for one of the nine new Legends, and players get a Heimerdinger, Academy Instructor promo while supplies last. Stores set the price. See what Pre-Rifts are.

  • Your local game store

The main channel for displays. Ask about a pre-order at $119.99; marketplace listings ran about $147 on October 21.

  • Showdown Decks, $34.99

Seraphine vs. Evelynn: two 56-card decks, two booster packs, two paper playmats and a rulebook. Riot has posted both decklists in its Radiance Overview.

  • Vault

A storage box, six boosters, foil tokens and 36 Runes. Riot hasn't posted its price (checked October 21); distributors list $34.99.

  1. Don't chase pre-order prices. Every earlier set's display has sold for more than $119.99 since, but newer sets have tended to settle closer to it.
  2. Buy singles for a specific card. Riot's average for the Ultimate Rare is 0.025% of packs, not a guarantee and not something to open boxes for.
  3. Watch for Riot's next drawing. Our Windows page lists Riot drawings, and Deals shows who has Radiance at a fair price.
