Why One Piece cards cost more than MSRP, why they're hard to find, and how to get them at MSRP
English One Piece booster boxes list at $119.76, but most sell for much more and many sell out before release day. Here's why, and how players get boxes at the price on the box: pre-orders, Release Events and Bandai's own drawings.
In short
- MSRP is $4.99 a pack, $119.76 a box for current sets (24 packs of 12 cards).
- Demand has outrun supply. Bandai said in February 2026 that many fans were having trouble buying its products, and announced reprints and new ways to buy (Bandai).
- Most boxes are spoken for early. Stores order about six months ahead and get a share of what's printed. Many sell it to their pre-order lists and at Release Events first.
- Your best shot at MSRP is a pre-order with a store that runs One Piece events, plus Bandai's own drawings. Printed Price tracks the dates, the windows and the fair prices.
- If you pay over MSRP, compare against the price on the box, make sure it's the English box, and buy from a shop with a record and a return policy.
Why One Piece costs more than MSRP
Bandai sets a price per pack: $4.19 for the first three sets, $4.49 from OP-04 to OP-09, and $4.99 from OP-10 on (OP-03, OP-04, OP-10). A booster box holds 24 packs of 12 cards (ICv2), so a current box lists at $119.76. Bandai's own US store sells boxes at $120 (Premium Bandai).
Far more people want English boxes than there are boxes to go around. In February 2026 Bandai said many fans had trouble buying its products, and announced reprints of OP-13 and EB-03, priority for stores that run official play, and chance-to-buy sales on its own store (Bandai on X). When a set runs low, prices move fast: one seller report found OP-13 case prices more than tripled within two months of release (TCGplayer).
Bandai sometimes reprints a set people want, but a restock is never promised. Once a set stops being printed, resale sets the price, and older boxes keep climbing.

Why it's hard to find
Stores order One Piece about six months before release, through distributors, and Bandai holds them to the release date (Bandai). Each store gets a share of what's printed, often less than it asked for. Since July 2026, stores registered with Bandai that host Release Events get a guaranteed minimum (Bandai). Shops that put pre-orders up for sale warn that a short allocation can mean a cancelled order and a refund.
At big chain stores, English booster boxes are hard to find. GameStop's One Piece range is packs, starter decks and special boxes, and its single-pack pre-orders for OP-18 are $14.99 a pack, about three times the pack price, five to an account (GameStop, September 30, 2026). Target lists double packs (Target). To stop resellers, Bandai's US Official Shops now remove the plastic from boxes at checkout (Wargamer).

How to get it at MSRP
New English sets now come out every two to three months, at the same time worldwide since OP-17 (Bandai, Bandai on X), so another chance usually comes within a few months.
- Pre-order from a store that plays. Stores that run One Piece events tend to get boxes first, and many sell them to regulars at or near MSRP. Find one with Bandai's Bandai TCG+ store list and ask how its pre-order list works. A pre-order isn't automatically at MSRP, so check the price against the box price before you pay.
- Go to the Release Event. Stores that host events usually hold one around each release; OP-16's ran the week before release day, and buying a booster box there also earned an extra Release Event pack (Bandai).
- Enter Bandai's drawings. Premium Bandai USA sells boxes at $120 by chance-to-buy drawing; they ship months later (Premium Bandai).
- Use Printed Price. Releases has every One Piece date and MSRP, Windows shows pre-orders and drawings as they open, and Deals shows what vetted shops have and how far over MSRP it is. We also post openings on X at @PrintedPriceTCG.

What the product codes mean
Bandai's English products go by code (Bandai). Most starter decks are $11.99; ST-22 and ST-29 are $16.99, and ST-30 (a Starter Deck EX) is $19.99 (Bandai). Double packs hold two booster packs and a DON!! card (Bandai). Two sets combine codes: OP14-EB04 and OP15-EB04.

Before you pay over MSRP
- Compare against MSRP, not against other high prices. A box at $199.99 is $80.23 over a $119.76 MSRP, even if other listings ask more.
- Check that the listing says English. Japanese packs hold 6 cards instead of 12, so a Japanese box has half the cards (Bandai Japan), and Japanese Leader and main-deck cards can't be used in North American official play (Tournament Rules Manual, 2.4.1).
- Make sure it's the whole box. Look for words like "case", "pack", "lot" or "display only", so you know what you're paying for.
- Buy pricey and older boxes from sellers you can hold to account. Bandai warns that counterfeit and unauthorized products are sold online and won't support them (Bandai). A shop with a long record and a clear return policy is worth a few dollars more.
